As the Director of Photography, my job was bringing my director, Zayn's vision to life, turning the script into the final cut by envisioning and creating his imagination through the lens of the camera
Before embarking on storyboarding the script, i got my first visions for the script out onto paper in the forms of annotations and notes on a printed copy of the script. This helped me consult with Zayn regarding each shot/scene and create a deeper understanding between us, providing me a great amount of insight into what he was looking for.
To align my visualisation of the script with Zayn's vision as the director, I storyboarded the script. Sketching scenes helped us initially depict the film, making shot planning easier and aligning the team to bring the Zayn's ideas to life.
On top of handling the cinematography, I also assisted with the shoot’s logistics. I created a shooting schedule that we used as a reference, which helped us in keep in mind how many different shots we had to cover in the given time frames.
I am very happy with how the film came out visually, especially after the footage had been colour graded in Davinci Resolve.
